CHEESESTEAK

dajner-6_edited_edited.jpg

The cheesesteak was born in the 1930s on the streets of Philadelphia, when Pat Olivieri, a hot dog vendor, threw sliced beef onto a grill and placed it in a fresh bun. The smell drew passersby in, and a legend was born. A simple street food became a symbol of the city - a food that brought together workers, students, and gourmets.

Born in Philly

Finely sliced beef leg, slowly seared on the grill until caramelized. A layer of creamy American cheese or Cheez Whiz melts on top, seeping into every fold of the meat. All wrapped in a fresh Italian bun with a crispy crust and a soft center.

What does it contain

For us, a cheesesteak is not just a sandwich - it's a feeling. That moment when you unwrap the foil, smell the searing meat and melted cheese, and you know the next few minutes are going to be perfect. We put it on the menu because no diner is complete without a meal that warms you up, fills you up, and makes you smile. Here, we make it the way it deserves - honestly and with the highest quality ingredients.

MAC'N'CHEESE

dajner-16.jpg

The origins of Mac'n'Cheese are a subject of eternal debate. Some claim that Thomas Jefferson brought the recipe from Europe after returning from Italy, where he fell in love with pasta and cheese. Others say that variations of this dish existed in English cookbooks as early as the 14th century. One thing is certain - when cheap boxed Mac'n'Cheese from Kraft appeared in America in the 1930s, it became the food of the nation. The aristocratic recipe became a comfort food for everyone.

Born in USA (or England?)

The base is quality macaroni cooked al dente, coated in a thick cheese sauce made with cheddar, gouda and a little cream cheese. The sauce is made with real roux - butter, flour, milk - no powders or shortenings. On top, a crispy crust is baked from breadcrumbs with butter and parmesan, which gives every bite the perfect contrast - creamy inside, crispy on top.

What does it contain

Because there is no better comfort food. Mac'n'Cheese is the dish you reach for when you need a hug in the form of food. After a long day, in the rain, or simply when you want something warm and honest. At our Diner, we make it the way your American grandmother would - slowly, with love and with a good dose of cheese. It's our most popular dish on the menu and when you taste it, you'll understand why.

Sandwiches

CHICKEN THIGH

dajner-29_edited.jpg

Fried chicken thighs in a sandwich are nothing new - chicken sandwiches have been served in the American South since the first diners opened along the highways. But the real boom came in recent years, when the chicken sandwich became the subject of the so-called "chicken wars" - a battle between chains to see who can make the best one. We didn't join that war. We simply made it our way - honestly, from the chicken thigh, which is juicier and more flavorful than the breast.

King of American Sandwiches

Chicken thigh marinated overnight in a buttermilk spice mixture, then coated in a crispy flour mixture and fried until golden brown. We place it on a fresh buttered bun, add homemade coleslaw or fresh salad, pickles and our signature sauce. Each piece of meat is juicy on the inside and perfectly crispy on the outside - that's the advantage of the thigh over the breast, which dries out quickly.

What does it contain

Because we wanted to have a sandwich on the menu that was simply unforgettable. One that people would come back for and tell their friends about. The chicken thigh sandwich is exactly that dish - when you bite into it, you hear the crunch, you feel the juices from the meat and you know this is something different. Not fast food, not a chain, just an honest sandwich made with quality ingredients.

PORK BELLY

dajner-37.jpg

Pork belly, or in Slovak, bravčový bôčik, was a food of the poor for centuries. In China, it was stewed in soy sauce, in Korea it was grilled on the table among friends, in Europe it was made into bacon and cracklings. But when it reached the plates of high-end restaurants in the early 2000s, everything changed. Chefs discovered that slow cooking could transform this inexpensive cut of meat into something absolutely luxurious. A crispy crust, a layer of fat underneath that melts on the tongue, and tender meat that falls apart when you touch it.

Slow meat with a fast history

Pork belly slowly roasted at low heat for several hours until the meat is buttery tender and the skin is crispy like chips. It is sliced thickly and placed on fresh toasted bread with fresh lettuce leaves and homemade sauce - a sweet and spicy glaze based on honey, soy sauce and chili. Each sandwich is the perfect balance between the richness of the meat and the freshness of the vegetables.

What does it contain

Because pork belly is proof that simple things can be extraordinary when given time and attention. At our diner, we don't want to make food fast. We want to make it well. And the pork belly sandwich is exactly that. Hours of slow cooking are transformed into a few minutes of pure pleasure. It's a dish for those who know that the best things in life are worth waiting for.

Sides

dajner-46.jpg

Fries

Our fries are not ordinary. We fry them in real pork fat - the way it was done in the old days, when fries still tasted like fries. Thanks to the fat, they get a golden, crispy crust on the outside and a creamy texture on the inside, which you will never get from a fryer with oil. Finally, we sprinkle them with our own spices - a special mix, the exact composition of which we will only reveal that it contains smoked paprika, garlic and a pinch of mystery. Whoever tastes them once, will never go back to ordinary fries.

avocado mash.jpg

Avocado Mash

Fresh ripe avocado, hand-mashed with lime, a pinch of sea salt. Simple, fresh and creamy - the perfect side dish to lighten up any sandwich and add a fresh contrast. Served fresh, made to order, because avocado deserves respect, not a plastic bowl from the fridge.

Pickles

Pickled cucumbers, onions and vegetables made in our house - homemade, in jars, the way it should be. Crunchy, sour and addictive. They are the perfect companion to any meat sandwich - they cut through the richness of the meat and refresh the palate. We have them in several versions - classic dill, sweet and spicy and spicy with jalapeños.

Sauces

Chipotle

Smoky, slightly spicy and velvety smooth, our chipotle sauce is the perfect accompaniment to meat. It adds a deep, smoky flavor to every bite with a subtle tang that will keep you coming back for more.

BBQ Mayo

Classic American BBQ meets creamy mayonnaise. The result is a sweet-smoky sauce that works with everything from fries to chicken sandwiches to pork belly. One dip, two dips, and suddenly the bowl is empty.

Pineapple Mayo

Our original twist - creamy mayonnaise with finely chopped pineapple and a pinch of chili. Fresh, sweet and surprisingly addictive. It makes sense for everything you wouldn't expect it to be, and that's what we love about it.

Slushies

Icy, colorful and incredibly refreshing

Our slushies are just what you need for a proper diner meal. We offer them in both non-alcoholic and alcoholic versions, and we regularly rotate flavors to make every visit a little surprise.

Currently on our alcohol menu you will find Margarita-based slushies - ice, lime, with tequila and a good dose of good mood. Whether you have the version with alcohol or without, one thing is certain. The last sip always comes too soon.
